Prudential Ride London 100

By  February 11, 2016

So the Ballot results were released this week and i was lucky enough to have got a place among them! I can’t wait for it.

100 miles on closed roads starting from the Olympic park in the capital and then heading out towards Surrey and back into London going through some iconic landmarks such as Buckingham palace, pall mall, the Embankment and so many more!
It’ll be completely new roads for me which is always good and in the middle of summer so i’m hoping for a nice day!

The Ride London 100 is a televised event too and usually has a selection of some pro riders taking part to bring in some views.
In past years there has been around 150,000 spectators lining up to cheer on the riders, this will be new to me. I’ve never ridden for a crowd so i think the atmosphere will be incredible.

I’ve done a fair few 100 milers before which have all had 7000ft of climbing or more, this is meant to be fairly flat so the distance is not a problem at all. I can go there on the day not worrying about whether i can do it or not and just completely enjoying the day. I’ll be able to soak up the atmosphere and make the most of the closed roads.
